Secondary battery and method of manufacturing the same

A secondary battery comprises a bare cell having an electrode tab and a protection circuit module coupled to the bare cell, wherein the protection circuit module comprises a circuit board, first and second terminals on a first side of the circuit board that faces the bare cell and a protective device between the first and second terminals, wherein the first terminal has a first portion connected to the electrode tab and a second portion connected to the protective device. The protective device is connected to the terminals in an unfolded assembly position and is folded down to achieve a compact arrangement.
