A method for forming an electrode active material comprising mixing a lithium source and an active material precursor utilizing homogenization and sintering processes, and products thereof, are disclosed. Such a method utilizing large lithium source particles removes the need for milling lithium source particles, thereby achieving a cost-effective and simplified electrode active material production process.
