ACOUSTIC SYSTEM HAVING ACOUSTIC VEHICLE ALERTING SYSTEM (AVAS) WITH VEHICLE CABIN SOUND SYSTEM AS AUDIO SOURCE

An acoustic system includes an acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) and a vehicle cabin sound system. The AVAS has an external speaker arrangeable on an exterior portion of a vehicle to output audio alerts of the AVAS for persons in an external environment of the vehicle to hear to be alerted to the presence of the vehicle. An audio source device, such as a radio, audio streaming system, microphone, etc., of the vehicle cabin sound system is arranged as an audio source of the AVAS. The audio source device generates or receives an audio sound typically outputted by the vehicle cabin sound system for persons in an interior portion of the vehicle to hear. As the audio source device is arranged as an audio source of the AVAS, the external speaker may output the audio sound of the audio source device for persons in the external environment to hear.
