An oxide material comprising: one or more materials selected from the group consisting of a nanofiber, a nanowire, and a two-dimensional substance, and represented by a formula: MQOwherein M is one or more element selected from the group consisting of Groups 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, Q is one or more element selected from the group consisting of Groups 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, excluding O, a is 0 to 2, and b is more than 0 and 2 or less; and a metal element and/or metalloid element on a surface and/or between layers of the one or more materials, wherein a total content of halogen elements is 0.90 mass % or less.
