Intake device for an internal combustion engine

The engine has a shutter (10) whose end plate is pivotally mounted on a plate based on an axis (14) parallel with a transversal axis (12) of a main plate (11). The shutter is displaced between an opening position in which the main plate and a secondary plate extend in extension with respect to each other and parallel to a direction of a supply channel (3) and divide into two flow sections. A principal plate blocks one of the flow sections, and the secondary plate is provided in a support against a wall of the channel when shutter is displaced in a partial closing position of channel. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an internal combustion engine.
