Pneumatic tire with built-in innermost adhesive layer and post cure applied sealant

The present invention is directed to a pneumatic tire comprising a sulfur cured assembly comprising an outer circumferential rubber tread (14), a supporting carcass, an inner liner rubber layer (22) inwardly disposed on the supporting carcass, a built-in polymeric sulfur curable thermoplastic diene-based polyurethane (TPU) adhesive layer (23) disposed inwardly of the rubber inner liner layer (22), and a polyurethane sealant layer (20) adhered to the built-in adhesive layer (23) which provides self-sealing properties to the pneumatic tire. The invention is also about a method of preparing such a tire (10).
