Integration of an air-liquid heat exchanger on an engine

DRIVE June 22, 2011
Source
The engine (2) has axial compressors (42, 44) traversed by primary flow (4), and a wall (26) defining an internal surface of secondary flow (6). A passage (22) generates discharge current drain controlled from the primary flow toward the secondary flow. A oil lubrication and/or cooling circuit lubricates and cools components of the engine. An air cooled oil cooler (ACOC) type heat exchanger (28) cools the oil from the circuit. The heat exchanger is partially arranged directly in the current drain, and arranged directly in the downstream of the junction of the passage with the wall. An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling oil in a lubrication and/or cooling circuit.
