June 15, 2011
An air intake apparatus for internal combustion engine includes a casing (C) having a hollow shape and constituting an air intake passage connected to a cylinder of an internal combustion engine, the casing including an intake port (P1) and a discharge port (P2), and a rotary valve (V) mounted at an inside of the casing in a rotatably driven manner and including a rotor (R) that adjusts a volume of an airflow from the intake port (P1) to the discharge port (P2) of the casing. The rotor includes a valve element edge portion (12c) that varies an opening area of the discharge port, the valve element edge portion being formed by a cut portion (12A).
