Method for capacitive seat occupancy detection

The method involves operating two measuring electrodes with a pre-determined frequency in the seat and the loss angle resulting by the occupancy or the vacancy of the seat. The loss angle is a measurement for the occupancy or the vacancy of the seat. The electrical conductors of a seat heating of the seat are used as the measuring electrodes. The measuring electrodes are operated directly with the pre-determined frequency while disconnecting seat heating and the seat occupancy is determined.
