Exhaust gas recirculation method and system

The present disclosure refers to a method and apparatus for recirculating an exhaust gas flow of a large internal combustion engine (10) having an air inlet (15) and an exhaust gas outlet (20). The method may comprise the steps of diverting a first partial exhaust gas flow at the exhaust gas outlet (20) of the large internal combustion engine (10); cooling the exhaust gas of the first partial exhaust gas flow (190); compressing the cooled first partial exhaust gas flow (190); cooling the compressed exhaust gas of the first partial exhaust gas flow (190); and supplying the cooled and compressed first partial exhaust gas flow (190) to the air inlet (15) of the large internal combustion engine (10).
