A noncontact power receiving apparatus for receiving electric power from a power transmission coil transmitting the electric power received from a power supply includes: a power reception coil (110, 120) for receiving, by means of electromagnetic resonance, electric power transmitted from the power transmission coil; a rectifier (130) for rectifying the electric power received by the power reception coil (110, 120); a load (150) supplied with the electric power rectified by the rectifier (130); and a first relay (112) provided on a path over which the electric power is transmitted from the power reception coil (110, 120) to the rectifier (130), for cutting off the electric power.
