The method for manufacturing lithium titanate for a lithium secondary battery active material according to the present invention comprises a first step of preparing a mixture comprising a lithium compound, and anatase type titanium dioxide obtained by a sulfuric acid method and having a specific surface area of 10.0 to 50.0 m/g as measured by a BET method; a second step of pressure-molding the mixture to prepare a reaction precursor; a third step of firing the reaction precursor; and a fourth step of pulverizing a fired product obtained in the third step by a gas-flow pulverizer to obtain lithium titanate represented by a general formula: LiTiO, having an average particle diameter of 3.0 µm or less.",
