The anti-skid chain (1) has multiple traction rods (9) running from perpendicular to transverse to the periphery direction (U) of a vehicle tire (11). The traction rods comprise chain elements (9a). A catch element (12) is provided with catch rods extending away from a road tread (10). The catch rod is attached to the roadway and is arranged as shovel on the roadway.
