The tow coupling comprises a holding unit and a ball neck (10) which is connected to the holding unit in a working position (A) in an area of one end (12). A coupling ball (18) of the ball neck, is arranged at another end (16), where a sensor is arranged at the ball neck. The sensor is provided with an evaluation unit.
