Method and device for connecting at least one string of a photovoltaic assembly with an inverter

The arrangement has a first safety switch (6) selectively coupling a terminal (16) of a substring (3) to a power cable (10) of an inverter. A second safety switch (7) selectively couples another terminal (17) of the substring to a terminal of another substring (4) at center point to couple the substrings to form a string (1). A third safety switch (8) selectively couples another terminal of the latter substring to another power cable (11) of the inverter. A shared actuator (12) opens the switches if current between a center point (18) and a circuit ground exceeds a threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a method for locating a ground fault condition within a circuit arrangement.
