Device and method for locking a connector into a socket

The device (1) has a latch element e.g. lever or pin, engaged in a recess of a plug connector (2) in a latching position. The latch element is locked in the recess in a locked position of a locking element (4), and is released in a released position of the locking element for removing the connector. An end position determination unit (19) for generating an end position signal is attached to the latch element and/or locking element such that the latching position of the latch element and/or the locked position of the locking element are detectable by the signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for locking a plug connector in a power socket.
