The insular unit (110) has a photovoltaic unit (113) for producing energy from renewable resources, an energy storing unit (115) for storing energy, a load connection unit for connecting the insular unit with load unit (111) for using energy and a power supply unit (114), particularly an inverter unit, for connecting insular unit with an energy network for taking energy from the energy network and for supplying energy into energy network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an insular energy network; and (2) a method for controlling insular energy network.
