Furthermore, the method comprises a step of determining (620) a detection value (y) using the roll acceleration sensor signal or using the roll acceleration sensor signal as a detection value and a step of detecting (630) the ditch drive of the vehicle (100) when the detection value (y) exhibits a value lying within a predetermined detection value range.
