Front headlamp with a LED module for partial high beam

The headlamp has a light module (22) i.e. LED, including a semiconductor light source (28), an edge (30) and an optic element (32) e.g. lens, that manipulates light distribution of the headlamp. The optic element is equipped and arranged to display the edge as a bright-dark boundary line that runs parallel to a vertical axis of a motor vehicle. The headlamp generates partial high beam light distribution by switching the light module to another light module that includes another semiconductor light source and another optic element. An independent claim is also included for a lighting system comprising a sensor.
