A light distribution control system (100) for controlling automotive headlamps includes the automotive headlamps (210) capable of controlling the range of illumination in a front area of a vehicle, a camera (306) for picking up the images of the front area of the vehicle, and a vehicle control unit (302). The vehicle control unit (302) detects the positional coordinates of a forward vehicle in the images picked up by the camera (306) and detects the pitch angle of the vehicle. The vehicle control unit (302) corrects the detected positional coordinates of the forward vehicle, based on the pitch angle. The vehicle control unit (302) and the illumination control unit (228) controls the illumination range of the automotive headlamps (210), based on the corrected positional coordinates of the forward vehicle.
