Device and method for providing electrical energy at a branch circuit supplying a load

A supply device comprises safety and monitoring device (50) separately associated with load. A load circuit is connected via connection unit to output of the safety and monitoring device. The load circuit has sensor units (31,32) for detecting electrical variable and an evaluating device (52) activated by the sensor units. The evaluating device contains parameterization units for pre-settable specification of a trigger criterion relevant to safety, when the trigger criterion relevant to safety is reached, then a switch device (54) for the load circuit is activated. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing detecting electrical energy, which involves supplying circuit after setting parameter.
