Internal combustion engine comprising a cylinder having a liner wall, a piston and an anti-polishing ring positioned at an upper portion of the liner wall adjacent the piston when the piston is at a top dead center position, wherein the liner wall and the anti-polishing ring are integrally formed as a single piece.
