"textContent": "In an electric railway system, a rapid electric charge to electric-power storage elements is stably and safely performed while an electric car is stopped. In the electric railway system having an electric-power supply device that supplies electric power to the electric car 10, the electric-power supply device includes a power source 70, and an overhead conductor portion 1A connected to the power source 70. The electric car 10 includes: a power collector 2A that is installed on a roof of the electric car 10, has a contact conductor portion 60 contactable to the overhead conductor portion 1A, and is capable of raising and lowering the contact conductor portion 60 based on an instruction from outside; a switching unit 11 connected to the power collector 2A, and opening and closing a main circuit; an electric-power conversion device 12 that is connected to the switching unit 11 and performs an electric power conversion; an electric-power storage device 13 that is connected to the electric-power conversion device 12; an electric motor 16 that is driven by the electric-power conversion device 12 and drives the electric car 10; and a control unit 15 that controls at least the switching unit 11.",
