Telecommunication system incorporating a vanadium redox battery energy storage system
DRIVE
January 19, 2011
A telecommunication system (100) incorporates a vanadium redox battery energy storage system (102). The vanadium redox battery energy storage system (102) receives and is charged by DC power. Upon power interruption, telecommunication equipment relies on the vanadium redox battery energy storage system (102) to receive DC power. A charger/rectifier (116) monitors received AC power (104) to determine if an AC power (104) interruption is occurring and initiates DC power transmission from the vanadium redox battery energy storage system (102) to the telecommunication equipment (106).
