The present disclosure provides a thermal blocking sheet () for a battery, and a method of manufacturing a thermal blocking sheet for a battery. The thermal blocking sheet includes a frame () comprising one or more frame elements configured to resist compression of the sheet, and thermal insulation () located within the frame. The method includes forming a frame comprising one or more frame elements configured to resist compression of the sheet, and disposing thermal insulation within the frame.
