Internal combustion engine with turbocharging

DRIVE June 7, 2006
Source
The engine has cylinder groups downstream to high pressure turbines (15, 16) of high pressure stages of an exhaust gas turbocharger. The turbines (15, 16) are downstream to a low pressure turbine (21) of the turbocharger. The high pressure stages are assigned to bypass lines in such a way that the turbine (21) completely supplies an exhaust gas flow over the turbines (15, 16) in the partial loading operation with the closed lines.
