During the RPM increase the position (VIGV) of a variable guide vane row (15) is altered and especially to close it in such a way that the compressor intake mass flow is restricted. The position of the variable guide vane row is dynamically altered. Independent claims are included for the following: (A) a control unit (4) configured for a compressor to allow the aforesaid method to be applied; (B) a digital programme code for a control unit to enable a turbocompressor to be operated by the aforesaid method; (C) a source code of the programme code; and (D) data storage medium (5) upon which the programme is stored.",
