Floor covering element for the passenger space of an automotive vehicle provided with a decorative insert

The covering unit has a thin three-dimensional structure (4) made up of injected plastic material with an opening (5). The opening is covered by a decorative insert (6) with a covering material base such as a carpet base, associated in the opening`s periphery. The insert has a radial slot to develop its geometry, and is linked to the structure by clips or Velcro type touch-and-close fasteners, and is obtained by flatly cutting a carpet. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an architecture for mounting a floor covering unit in a vehicle (B) a floor covering assembly of a cab interior of a motor vehicle comprising a floor covering unit.
