Route guidance system and method for uneven terrain

Route guidance system has a CPU (1) to determine a slope of a section of a target route, where the section lies before an actual position of a vehicle driver. The CPU provides a graphical representation generated based on the route and the three dimensional data of an uneven terrain to the driver on a display. The CPU provides an alternative route to the driver when the slope exceeds the vehicle performance. An independent claim is also included for a method for route guidance for a motor vehicle driver.
