The induction device for an internal combustion engine has a shut-off slide element in the branch point of a main flow pipe (1) and can move transversely to it. In a first end position of the shut-off slide element the first passage section (2) of the main flow pipe is closed off by a flow deflection element (11) which extends from a wall of the main flow pipe lying opposite the branch opening as far as a wall of the open second passage section (3). In a second end position of the shut-off slide element a base element (12) connected to the flow deflection element closes the branch opening of the second passage section.
