Differential assembly with cover gasket having integral magnet

An axle assembly (12) for a vehicle includes a housing (14), a differential assembly (20) rotatably supported within the housing, a differential cover (10) and a gasket assembly (52) positioned between the housing and the differential cover. The gasket assembly includes a body (58) and a magnet (60) coupled to the body. The magnet is positioned in communication with a lubricant located within the interior of the housing.
