Flag data are analyzed and resulting flag data are stored upon completion of input flag data. Compensated time data are determined as function of stored current time data and time delay depending on which nterface is used. Compensated location data are determined as function of compensated time data. The compensated location data are stored in association with stored resulting flag data. Current time data are stored in response to initiation of flag data input through one of data input interfaces of the geographical location unit of the mapping system. The geographical location unit generates the location data. A processing unit connected to the geographical location unit and the data input interfaces generate a map. An independent claim is also included for a mapping system movable over terrain.
