Method and device for controlling vehicle speed

The device has a speed detection mechanism (14) detecting speed of a vehicle and providing a corresponding speed signal to an output. A speed set value determination mechanism (18) is coupled to the output and determines a target speed set value from the speed signal detected during a given period and provides the value to a controller (12). The controller adjusts the speed of the vehicle based on the set value. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling speed of a vehicle.
