Method and device for determining the absolute pressure in a fluid flow conduit

The method involves detecting a signal from a pressure sensor (3) and integrating the signal during a specified time period. An integrated value is multiplied by a factor, and an operating pressure is added to the multiplied value. The pressure is detected with the aid of a pressure sensor in an internal combustion engine in proximity to a high- pressure pump supplying a pipe with fluid or on a rail. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining the absolute pressure in pipes.
