Method of assembly of an annular wire antenna and a transponder apparatus

An antenna conductor (32) is electrically coupled to a transponder (34) and antenna conductor ends (138, 140) are spliced. The antenna conductor and the transponder are formed into a ring assembly and at least partially embedded within an adhesive material. The annular assembly affixes to a tire (12) by means of the adhesive material.
