Energy absorbing headlamp for vehicles and process for absorbing energy caused by an impact with a pedestrian
DRIVE
April 12, 2006
The headlight has a casing (3) fixed on a vehicle, and a protective cover glass to close the casing. An optical module (10) is provided with an intermediate fixed to a reflector and supporting a lens. A corrector (9) is fixed on the casing and to the module. The corrector displaces the module vertically or horizontally for partial absorption of the energy produced during impact between a pedestrian and the vehicle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of absorbing some of the energy arising from an impact between a pedestrian and a vehicle headlight (B) a motor vehicle which includes a headlight.
