The transmission adjusts two relatively displaceable parts, the first of the parts having a fixed spindle or a fixed toothed rack. The transmission has as a worm gear (4,41) with a spindle thread (42) for driving a spindle, or a worm screw for driving the toothed rack. A drivable worm screw (3,31) transmits a drive force to the worm gear. A transmission case (1) is mounted on the worm screw and worm gear and is formed in one piece with a worm screw bearing (14) and a worm gear bearing (19).
