Off-centered fuel injection nozzle for automotive combustion engine
DRIVE
April 5, 2006
The nozzle (3) has injection holes distributed on its periphery in n vertical rows, where the number of holes of each row is selected according to a flow of the row. The flow and a position of each row with respect to a cavity (4) are selected according to a ratio of a desired total flow of fuel for an engine of given power and a surface projected from the cavity. The total flow is based on cavity radius and length of a fuel spray. An independent claim is also included for an assembly formed of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine and a fuel injection system.
