Vehicle immobilizer

The motor vehicle includes a transmission (4) with a converter (7) which has a RPM sensing device (6), a controllable clutch (10) to effect a power flux between the converter and other transmission component, and a drive-away lock (3) installed in the transmission. A signal from the drive-away lock controls the clutch, and a signal from the RPM sensing device is coupled to the transmission drive-away lock and on the basis of this further operations of the vehicle are made possible or restricted.
