Double clip fastener device with retaining plate

A fastener device for connecting a first component (3) to a second component (23) comprises a clip (1) having a flange (6) and a shank (7), and a retaining plate (2) cooperable with the clip (1) to embrace the first component (3) between the flange (6) and the retaining plate (2) when the shank (7) is passed through a hole in the first component (3) and a hole in the retaining plate (2). When the shank (7) is passed through a hole (25) in the second component (23), first elastic engagement leaves (9) on the shank (7) engage an edge of that hole (25). Second elastic engagement leaves (18) on the retaining plate (2) engage portions of the first elastic engagement leaves (9), and the retaining plate is interposed between the components (3, 23).
