Method and device for operating a hands-free access and/or a hands-free start system for vehicles

The method involves attributing, during an allocation, a set of sub-radio frequency channels in a frequency band so that each operating function of a hands-free access and/or cranking system can be assigned to at least a sub-radio frequency channel. The attribution of the channels is different for badges (1) or a control system (5) that is embedded on a motor vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for operating a hands-free access and/or cranking system.
