Modular tool assembly having a vacuum mounting arrangement

A modular tool assembly (10) including a tool base (12) configured to releasably secure a modular tool arrangement (14) in a fixed relationship relative to a mounting surface (16). The tool base (12) includes an upper housing portion (22) and a lower housing portion (20) having a mounting seal (24) extending therefrom. The mounting seal (24) cooperates with the mounting surface (16) to define a vacuum pocket (70) therebetween. A vacuum generating mechanism (50) is configured to remove air from the vacuum pocket (70) through an aperture (60) in the lower housing portion (20). A modular tool attachment (14) releasably engages a portion of the tool base (12) to secure the modular tool attachment (14) to the tool base (12).
