Camera arrangement for motor vehicles

The camera assembly for motor vehicles has a support plate (3) to which is connected at least one material bonded optical guide element (4A,4B) for a sensor unit independently of the camera (1). The support plate with the guide element lies directly or indirectly via an optical coupling medium on the inner side of the vehicle's windscreen. A cover cap (3A) is formed on the support plate and to exclude light and dust encloses the space between the windscreen and camera lens, whereby the camera is installed on the cover cap end facing away from the windscreen.
