A vehicle rain or dirt sensor (10) has transmitters (12) and receivers (16) made from an injection moulded part with inserted radiator (13) and receiver (16) separated by a test surface with output (15) and input (19) surfaces. Independent claims are included for the use of the sensor in a car headlamp and for use with other light sensors.
