Device for carrying loads externally on a vehicle

The load carrying device (1) fits on the outside of a vehicle (10). It has a first part (2) fixed to the vehicle, and a second part (3) to which the load to be carried can be fixed, or of which takes the load to be carried. For loading and unloading, the second part is movable by means of a guide device (5, 6, 7) relative to the first part between the using or driving position, and a loading position.
