The foil for a cathode of a capacitor includes an aluminum foil and a carbon-containing layer formed on a surface of the aluminum foil. An interposition layer containing aluminum and carbon is formed between the aluminum foil and the carbon-containing layer. The manufacturing method of a foil for a cathode of a capacitor includes a step of arranging an aluminum foil in a space containing a hydrocarbon-containing substance and a step of heating the aluminum foil.
