Method and system for detecting the positions of wheel-based monitors in a vehicle

DRIVE January 18, 2006
Source
To recognize the positions of wheel modules (M1-M4), at a vehicle (F), the condition values of the wheels (R1-R4) are established and signals giving data (11-14) are transmitted on signal paths (S1-S4) as an enhanced wheel identification to a signal receiver and processing unit (EV2). The wheel modules are arranged for the left and right wheels through their direction of rotation and/or the radio field strength, and leading and trailing modules based on module temperatures. The module temperatures are compared, and the higher temperatures are assigned to the powered wheels on acceleration.
