An electronic de-activator device is described of a type including an instrument panel (2) connected by a serial transmission line (4) to a control unit (6) controlling the air-bags and connected to the instrument panel (2), a keypad (8) being connected to the instrument panel (2). Selection of the option to de-activate the passenger side air-bag on a menu displayed on the instrument panel (2) and entering a safety code (PIN) by means of the keypad (8) causes the passenger side air-bag to be de-activated and illuminates a warning light on the instrument panel (2).
