The idling stop control means is operable to automatically stop the engine in accordance with the door-lock signal, and to automatically start said engine when the vehicle-start-intent detecting means detects the vehicle-start-intent-based signal. The vehicle control system with the idling stop control function can automatically stop and start the engine in an effective manner to achieve improvement in fuel economy and reduction in emissions/noise.",
