The device has releasable bolts (7, 8) to lock a cover (1) with respect to a rear trunk (2), and a control unit to release the bolts. The unit releases the bolts when a control of movement of a roof or the cover of the trunk is activated, and when the position of a panel (9) detected by sensors (13a, 13b) is compatible with the desired movement to open the cover from front to back or from back to front of a vehicle.
